Our E-Waste Effort: Local - Domestic - Standardized

Urban Mining Depot recognizes the importance of proper domestic recycling services and recycles 100% of all materials locally in the United States.   We do not export any metals or regulated materials to developing countries, in compliance with the Basal Action Network (BAN) and E-Stewards guidelines.

We provide our clients with Certificates of Destruction & Recycling, certifying that the reclamation and destruction employed by our facilities is in accordance with applicable Federal 40 CFR and DOD 5220 Sanitizing Standards.

Our Plan: Recycle - Refine - Regenerate

UMD’s comprehensive plan integrates local and regional recycling efforts with innovative metal refinery processes and other electronic material management practices to reclaim more than 90% of the reusable materials contained in obsolete electronic scrap.

All metal-based materials are sent to a domestic-based refinery to be regenerated into different types of metals including platinum, indium, tantalum, neodymium and samarium.  These rare and precious metals are then used by downstream processors to build new innovative devices and technology for future electronic components.

We at Urban Mining Depot believe our goals can be reached by working closely with local waste departments and community organizations to manage the voluminous flow of electronic waste, thus reducing landfill volumes,  diminishing waste management pressures and  creating a sustainable environment for Everyone!
