E-Waste Recycling Solutions for North Idaho!

Our goal is to stop the flow of electronic waste (e-waste) containing potentially regulated materials  (PRMs) including lead, cadmium, zinc, neodymium, tantalum, and indium from entering our area landfills. We decommission and recycle obsolete electronics, including TVs, computer monitors, cell phones, cameras, VCR/DVD players, stereos, computers and home office equipment.  UMD works collaboratively with surrounding communities and businesses to collect, sort and process e-waste to rid landfills of reusable materials, reduce environmental impacts, minimize energy costs and conserve natural resources.

Our mission is to separate and regenerate industrial metals from the municipal mountains of electronic waste and incorporate reclaimed urban ore into tomorrow’s electronics, while protecting groundwater sources and reducing growing pressures on landfills.  Recyclable components are sorted and processed following the Notification and Consent System of mandatory electronic recovery program guidelines and RCRA Universal Waste Laws to maintain no speculative accumulation of PRMs.

With cooperation from the local waste departments and partnerships with local schools, organizations and manufacturers, UMD organizes community E-Drives to intercept local e-waste, reducing landfill and minimizing municipal waste disposal expenses.    UMD collects e-waste items to reclaim reusable materials and recover rare earth metals in a manner meeting state, federal, and international regulatory requirements. You can reach Urban Mining Depot Owner and Prospector Eric York at (208) 284-5370 to discuss your recycling project details.
